In the last scene of the Hollywood movie Rush Hour, Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker are buckled up for a flight from the USA to Hong Kong when Chris Tucker asks the air hostess for a drink in Chinese.

Hearing this, Jackie Chan is surprised; he says ” You never told me that you knew to speak Chinese.”
Chris replies,”You never asked…..you assumed…”

This is the case all the time, we never ask but assume & we are wrong most of the time.
